Pre assigned seating positions is not a new idea, if fact it goes back to the 1960s. It has a tremendous benefit for the initial attack company because it defines assignments prior to arrival. The main draw back is becoming entrenched in the pre-assignment and not leaving flexibility. I have used it for years when I was a Company Officer and it is a great tool.

DOG's can specify who gets assignment based on rank, seniority, expertise and/or arrival time.

Sounds like a good idea, hopefully fire fighters don't start fighting for specific seats.
